[“ The fantastic, allegorical and symbolic paintings by Nikolai Milioti attract our attention with their extraordinary qualities. Sergei Makovsky called the artist “an experienced master, excellent at shaping and painting color music”. The color spots, which prevail over lines in Milioti’s works, were planned in detail to form a precise composition. This small painting is full of colors, emotions and details. The landscape background is composed of small strokes that form a kind of unique decorative pattern. The color spots in blue, emerald green, red and yellow are slightly blurred, slightly smoky, and fill the composition. However, the ruby cloak on the figure on foreground has a powerful emotional resonance, and becomes the dominant of the whole picture”.] In original hand-carved polychrome and parcel gilt French Gothic revival frame.
