Another (less detailed) variant of that painting was sold on Sotheby's London 21 April 1972 lot 1. (illustrated to the right)Due to Alexander Yakovlev's strong interest in Chinese art, he sometimes stamped his works with a Chinese stamp as is the case with this work. This seal was his Chinese name and read Ya Kou Lo Fou, with the last character meaning 'happiness'.
